TexSEF, The Forney ISD, and the NECC Collaborate to Present Undisputed: Scouting Grounds at the OC

Today, the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) in partnership with the Texas Scholastic Esports Federation (TexSEF), and The Forney Independent School District (Forney ISD) announced a one-day competitive gaming event for high school players in the greater Dallas / Fort Worth metro area.

Undisputed: Scouting Grounds @ The OC will take place on Saturday, November 15th at The Keith Bell Opportunity Central in Forney, Texas.

The day will feature competition across three titles: Marvel Rivals, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros. The event check in will be from 8:00AM to 9:00AM and is set to begin no later than 10:00AM and will run until all brackets have concluded.

NECC member schools will be able to attend the event and table if interested at no charge.

TexSEF is a member of the ISEA (Interstate Scholastic Esports Alliance) who the NECC is proud to support.

TexSEF is proud to provide dynamic in-person experiences for Texas esports competitors,” said Rick Allen, who is the current Esports Head Coach at Texas A&M University-Texarkana

Allen, who also serves as the Commissioner of TexSEF went on to say, “Our dedication to providing a clear pathway from high school to college to career via esports takes the next step with the NECC at the Undisputed: Scouting Grounds @ The OC. We’re thrilled to welcome college recruiters to connect with esport student-athletes seeking opportunities to further their education. This event is more than just a showcase, it's a launching point for the next generation of esports leaders.”

In addition to competition across the three titles, the event will also feature educational sessions featuring both high school and collegiate leaders, as well as current student-athletes. The one-day event will also include the opportunity for NECC programs to connect with and recruit potential student-athletes.

“Forney ISD could not be more proud to host NECC and TexSEF at the first-ever Scouting Grounds,” said Forney ISD lead esports coach Benjamin Bulgherini. “The OC is the crown jewel of education in Forney ISD and it is part of our mission to educate and bring the community together in innovative ways.”

“We’re extremely excited to be supporting Undisputed: Scouting Grounds at the OC,” said NECC Commissioner Jacob VanRyn.

“One of our main focuses over the last 12 months has been finding and cultivating valuable ways for our membership to be able to connect with and recruit more potential student-athletes. This event is the first in a series of events that we’ll be supporting and we’re excited to be working so closely with TexSEF and the Forney ISD on this effort.”
