CHICAGO - The North Park University Esports program will join the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) as Program Director Pete Casella announced on Tuesday morning.
The NECC is a dedicated Esports collegiate organization with a mission of providing competitive seasons and championships to the teams and competitors within. Founded in 2019, only two years have passed since the inception of the NECC, and the conference is already home to over three hundred colleges and universities with competitive Esports teams across the United States.
"In the NECC, it's been special witnessing the growth of collegiate Esports and, in turn, the upwards scaling of the NECC since 2019," said Chase Neukam, the Director of Esports at St. Ambrose University and an Advisory Board Member for the NECC. "We are ecstatic to host North Park, led by grassroots community mainstay Pete Casella, in the NECC for the upcoming season!"
North Park University will be officially joining the NECC for the Spring 2023 season.
