NECC Announces Extension of Partnership with HyperX

The NECC is proud to announce it has extended its partnership with HyperX Gaming. HyperX is one of the world’s leading providers of gaming equipment. Once again, this semester, all NECC championship-winning players will receive a HyperX peripheral as part of the relationship. Each title-winning player will receive a HyperX Cloud Alpha headset as part of their prizing.

The partnership also includes title sponsorship for NECC events, and a prominent place on all NECC streamed content throughout the spring semester. HyperX will also serve as the presenting sponsor of the NECC’s Overwatch and Rocket League Player of the Week awards.

As was the case in the fall, all NECC Championship-winning team members will once again receive a HyperX product as part of the partnership. Each of the players across the conference’s 19 championship-winning teams will receive a HyperX Cloud Alpha headset as part of their prizing.

“HyperX is happy to extend our support to The National Esports Collegiate Conference and support the growth of collegiate esports with top-of-the-line gaming headsets,” said Kitty Nguyen, Esports Sponsorships Specialist at HyperX. “In this unique time when people virtually get together and enjoy entertainment and friendly competition at home, HyperX appreciates being part of this experience and we are excited to align with NECC’s program."

“We’re excited to renew our partnership with HyperX,” said NECC Commissioner Jacob VanRyn. “They’ve supported us since day one and we’re proud to announce this extension of our relationship.”

HyperX is the high-performance product division of Kingston Technology, the world’s largest independent memory manufacturer. Originally started in 2002, HyperX began with one line of high-performance memory and has grown to encompass multiple product lines of memory modules, solid-state drives, USB flash drives, headsets and mouse pads. HyperX products are the choice of top-rated gamers worldwide.

Among the assets included as part of the agreement, HyperX assets will be featured on each of the NECC’s gaming streams throughout the 2021 spring semester and the company will be the title sponsor of two of the conference’s player of the week awards.

The NECC is currently streaming game play five nights per week, and more than two million people watched NECC action during the fall semester.

The spring semester of the NECC’s ‘Season Zero’ began recently and features players from more than 85 colleges and universities nationwide competing in five titles this semester.
