Today, the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) is proud to announce its partnership with Diverse Athlete Placement (DAP) as the conference's partner for career readiness and placement.
The purpose of the relationship between the two companies is to help provide NECC student-athletes with the tools they need to both prepare for, and ultimately, find a job in their chosen field.
This groundbreaking partnership will provide NECC student-athletes with free, high-impact career development resources, including an online self-paced training platform that helps students with career coaching, resume building, interview preparation, networking, financial literacy, goal setting, mental health, and leadership development.
"We're extremely excited to announce this partnership today," said NECC Commissioner Jacob VanRyn.
"As we work towards becoming more of a membership services organization, we believe that one of the best ways we can support our community is to help provide them with the tools and resources to be successful on their career path. This partnership with DAP will help support that mission greatly."
“As esports continues to grow at the collegiate level, we recognize the immense potential these athletes from over 500 universities have in the workforce,” said Danya Abrams, CEO of DAP.
“Through this partnership, we’re ensuring that NECC competitors have the resources, connections, and opportunities they need to thrive in careers beyond gaming. With access to over 50,000 employers and 7 million jobs, we are committed to helping these student-athletes seamlessly transition from competition to career success.”
NECC leadership is equally enthusiastic about the collaboration.
"We are the first organization outside of the 'traditional' athletic space that DAP has partnered with to provide their career services and we are proud to be bringing these transformational opportunities to our community of over 25,000 players," continued VanRyn.
This effort between DAP and the NECC to provide career readiness and placement opportunities speaks to the conference's commitment to help bridge the gap between esports competition and long-term career success.
This partnership reaffirms NECC’s dedication to supporting the holistic development of its athletes - both in and out of competition.
