NECC Announces Pricing Structure for Upcoming Academic Year

The National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced it's pricing model for the upcoming 2022-23 academic year publicly today.

"Since we began the NECC, we've always talked about not wanting price point to be a barrier to entry," said NECC Commissioner Jacob VanRyn. "We're proud to continue to be able to keep our price points very low, and excited to continue to be able to offer other options for colleges and universities that are just beginning their programs on campus."

NECC PRICING MODEL

The 2022-23 NECC pricing model includes two different levels and price points (and each is for the entire 2022-23 academic year):

  • $1,000
  • $500

$1,000

At the $1,000 price point, programs are allowed to compete in as many titles as they choose each semester. It allows full access to all the games the NECC sponsors, including complete access to all tournaments the conference may run during the season. Programs can compete in as many of the NECC's six core titles (League of Legends, Overwatch2, Rainbow Six: Siege, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros., and Valorant) as they choose and can enter as many teams in each title as they want.

At this tier, 10% of the school's membership dues ($100) will go towards the NECC's National Championship prizing in the titles that school is competing in. The NECC's National prize pools will be announced at a later date.

This tier places no restriction on the number of teams that the school has competing in each game for the year. For example, a program could have six Rocket League teams compete in the NECC and the price point remains the same.

This tier also offers NECC member discounts and opportunities that will be announced throughout the academic year.

$500

At the $500 price point, programs are allowed to compete in one of the NECC's core titles and have access to the National Championship segment in the spring. It allows access to one of the games the NECC sponsors - League of Legends, Overwatch2, Rainbow Six: Siege, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros., and Valorant - and the program is able to enter as many teams in that title as they want.

At this tier, 10% of the school's membership dues ($50) will go towards the NECC's National Championship prizing in the title that the school is competing in.

This tier also places no restriction on the number of teams that the school has competing in that title for the 2022-23 school year.
