MANSFIELD, Mass. – The National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced details about its new partnership with STUDENTathleteWorld (SaWUSA) to work together to provide the members of its collegiate esports community with memorable travel experiences.
Since its inception in 2009, SaWUSA has taken thousands of youths, high school, and college athletes and families on international sports tours around the world. Teams in Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse, Soccer, and Wrestling have ‘Represented the USA’ in various international tournaments and events.
“We are excited to add esports to our tour offerings and partner with the NECC,” said SaWUSA President Tim Ryerson. “We’ve been working hard to create what we believe to be the very first tour experience of this kind in the esports World. With support from the NECC we hope to create an experience that is nothing short of the coolest thing you’ve ever done!”
SaWUSA was created as a way to provide competitors with the thrill of international competition with the many benefits of foreign travel. Their tours are designed to promote athletic and leadership development along with, personal growth, cultural appreciation, world perspective, patriotism, family bonding and fun.
“We’re thrilled to announce this partnership with STUDENTathleteworld,” said NECC Commissioner Jacob VanRyn. “They are an industry leader in providing first-class experiences to young people worldwide, and while they have primarily focused on traditional sports travel, we’re excited to bring these opportunities to our players in the NECC.”
The NECC began in the fall of 2020 and was created to provide the collegiate esports community with a healthy and positive place to compete across a wide variety of popular titles. The conference currently works with over 300 colleges and universities throughout North America.
