The NECC will work with NASEF to enhance the pipeline ensuring that scholastic players have opportunities to continue their gaming careers with NECC member institutions
The National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced today that it has entered into a partnership with the Network of Academic and Scholastic Esports Federations (NASEF). The goal of the collaboration is to grow and develop the pipeline between the K-12 space and the collegiate space, making both ecosystems stronger as a result.
The two organizations share a mutual goal of strengthening and developing opportunities within the scholastic esports space. High school students are now able to play on collegiate esports teams, with some even becoming scholarshipped players. In addition to that, NASEF focuses on the full range of careers in the esports world, ranging from game play to shoutcasting, data analytics, game development, and more.
“This partnership with NASEF will go a long way towards helping us significantly support our conference membership and programs,” said NECC Commissioner / CEO Jacob VanRyn.
“One of the most consistent pain points we hear from our directors is the need to connect with players in the K-12 space. With this partnership, we will be able to provide those connections so that our programs can continue to grow and thrive.”
“NASEF is excited to partner with NECC to help all students find their future through esports,” said Gerald Solomon, NASEF Executive Director. “Connecting NASEF's K-12 scholastic esports model and pipeline with NECC's collegiate members enhances opportunities for all within the esports ecosystem.”
"It's exciting to see this partnership come together," said the NECC's Michael Lewis. "It's extremely exciting to be a part of a relationship that helps bring K-12 and collegiate together because it's always been a main goal for me throughout my time in esports."
The NECC recently began its fifth full year of competition. The Conference currently works with more than 500 colleges and universities throughout North America and is proud to be a safe and positive home for the collegiate esports community.
